Townhouse Guest & Laundry Room Combo

We recently had some of Caleb’s family stay with us a couple of nights during a family reunion. I figured since I did a little cleaning before they arrived, now would be the perfect time to share some pictures of the next room in the townhouse!

This room is located upstairs and has two exterior walls… so it has two windows and lots of natural light! The laundry hookups were moved upstairs into this room, which is one of three total “bedrooms” upstairs. We really wanted to have a guest room and the room was way too big to just have laundry, so this seemed to be the perfect space for a guest room/ laundry room combo space. The other bedroom is an office for Caleb.

First of all… as you can see… Cara thinks this is her room! 🙂 We have a queen bed in here. There is a very small amount of space between the wall and the bed but not enough for another end table. Caleb built the wooden end table and I stained it earlier this summer! We got the headboard from his grandparents. The puppy painting was done by Caleb when we were dating after I told him one of my first purchases when I have a place separate from my parents was going to be a chocolate lab! The throw pillow is one I stole from our living room set because it matched the comforter from Kohl’s so well! Wall color is Display by Joanna Gaines (Magnolia Home) and wooden sign is from Hobby Lobby! Lamp stand and shade I believe are from Walmart… but we got them a long time ago so I’m not entirely sure!

The rug is also from Walmart and the stand the TV is on we got from Caleb’s parents! We sanded and refinished the top. It stores all of our extra bathroom and personal stuff as well as screw drivers, hammer, nails, tape, etc. Then of course I have terracotta pots in the window with various succulent-type in them! South facing windows with a deep ledge work perfectly for those!

I believe the outside pots contain a type of Christmas Cactus and the center pot (covered in hard water stain) is a Calandiva.

The laundry area is organized with a couple of floating shelves from Hobby Lobby! Actually, I think all of the decor here is from there… dangerous place haha! The bins store things like a first aid kit, extra filters for our water pitcher, dusters, and the cloths for our steam mop. I like how they look, but they are also great at making stuff look and feel organized!

Over the years, I have had many compliments on how comfortable and cozy this room is to stay in. I hope they aren’t lying… 🙂 Either way, this room is functional for both us and our guests and it allows for us to have a space that is available at a moment’s notice if someone ends up staying here (which has happened a couple of times due to weather or whatever)!
