Hostas are one of my all-time favorite perennial landscape plants! They are easy to grow, they look awesome, there are a ton of different varieties, and they are one of the easiest plants to propagate!

To split a Hosta, you literally dig it up, then take a shovel and chop it in half or a few pieces! Be sure to be careful so all sections have a decent amount of roots! I should have taken pictures while I was splitting some the other day, but I forgot… it is seriously that simple though. Dig and chop!

This picture was taken just a couple of hours after splitting. While they look a little stressed now, they will take hold in a couple of days and get bigger and bigger each year! The taller, bushier plants in the back are Incrediball Hydrangeas… which are another one of my favorite landscaping perennials!

Per usual, Cara and I don’t taste-test to determine the safety of eating these plants. This information is based on research that I have done! Never eat anything that isn’t meant for eating! Always do your own research too!
I highly recommend these low-maintenance beauties! I use them all over the place! I split mine every couple of years. Budget friendly, easy to care for, and neat leafy plants… not sure what more a person could want! Mine also grow purple flowers mid-summer! 🙂
